From MIT comes The Human Brain, a series of 18 lecÂtures preÂsentÂed by ProÂfesÂsor NanÂcy KanÂwishÂer. They’re from a course that “surÂveys the core perÂcepÂtuÂal and cogÂniÂtive abilÂiÂties of the human mind and asks how they are impleÂmentÂed in the brain. Key themes include the repÂreÂsenÂtaÂtions, develÂopÂment, and degree of funcÂtionÂal speciÂficiÂty of these comÂpoÂnents of mind and brain. The course will take stuÂdents straight to the cutÂting edge of the field, empowÂerÂing them to underÂstand and critÂiÂcalÂly evalÂuÂate empirÂiÂcal artiÂcles in the curÂrent litÂerÂaÂture.”
