What are the 1000 best novÂels? The Guardian thinks it knows. This list was put togethÂer by The Guardian’s review team and a panÂel of experts. As you’ll see, the definÂiÂtive list is helpÂfulÂly subÂdiÂvidÂed into themes: love, crime, comÂeÂdy, famÂiÂly and self, state of the nation, sciÂence ficÂtion and fanÂtaÂsy, war and travÂel.
On that note, I should also highÂlight a colÂlecÂtion of Life-ChangÂing Books put togethÂer by our readÂers. You’ll find many good reads here as well.
1000 is too many.…it’s too much of a list and not one that is realÂisÂtiÂcalÂly readÂable. Then again…maybe that is the point.
The list has J K RawlÂings on the same list with CorÂmac McCarthy and MarÂgaret Atwood, among othÂers. THe HarÂry PotÂter series was wonÂderÂful, but RawlÂings doesÂn’t write nearÂly well enough to be on this list.
It’s “RowlÂing,” for Pete’s sake: “RowlÂing.”
what?
The definÂiÂtive list appears to conÂtain 998 works. What are the missÂing 2?
The missÂing two spots are for the books I am about to write. Im probÂaÂbly the best writer ever, so they will obviosly be at the top of the list.
Good quesÂtion. They should change the name to the 998 “NovÂels everyÂone must read”. That is until Iwrite my books.
