You may know Alex WinÂter best for his role as Bill S. PreÂston, Esq. in the 1989 film Bill & Ted’s ExcelÂlent AdvenÂture. But nowaÂdays, many years latÂer, he’s makÂing films. And if we can help out, he’ll soon be makÂing the definÂiÂtive docÂuÂmenÂtary of Frank ZapÂpa’s life.
On KickÂstarter this week, WinÂter announced:
Frank ZapÂpa is one of the strangest, most amazÂing and influÂenÂtial figÂures of our era, but his definÂiÂtive stoÂry has nevÂer been told.
Now, for the first time, the ZapÂpas have givÂen us comÂplete, unreÂstrictÂed access to the conÂtents of Frank’s priÂvate vault, and their full blessÂing and supÂport, to tell his stoÂry.
But before we can finÂish telling his stoÂry, we have to catÂaÂlog, save, digÂiÂtize, and preÂserve a vast archive of unreÂleased audio, video, images, docÂuÂments and more.
TogethÂer we can save Frank’s vault.
And when we do, we’ll have everyÂthing we need to answer the quesÂtion:
Who the F*@% is Frank ZapÂpa?
Just a few days into the KickÂstarter camÂpaign, WinÂter has already raised roughÂly half ($231,000) of the total amount ($500,000) needÂed to move forÂward with the project.
Through conÂtriÂbuÂtions large or small, you can help with the othÂer half, and make sure that the definÂiÂtive ZapÂpa docÂuÂmenÂtary sees the light of day. ConÂtribute here.
