In spite of his genial reactions on screen, Noam was seriously pissed about this. I don’t recall the exact quote, but Noam said something like “infantile” and “waste of time”
This is not funny nor smart
Actually, it’s hilarious!
It’s what Edward de Bono would call a “lateral pattern switch”. He claims humour is the most significant thing humans do. It’s how you would thwart AI; defeat the Turing test.
If you cannot see the funny side then like the “victim” you probably take yourself and everything else in your life too seriously. I suspect Chomsky wasn’t offended else he wouldn’t allow it to be aired?
Laughing is good for your health, and laughing hard at abstract humour is both physically and intellectually satisfying.
The scene is set, expectations are high, then the messenger and delivery are 360 deg out of phase. That’s funny .…
